Hi, I’m Anabella, the maker behind Ako Studio Ceramics.

I first discovered ceramics in 2015 and it quickly became a passion and creative outlet. When I moved to Antwerp at the end of 2022, it felt like the right time to create with more intention and explore turning this long-time passion into my work.

I’ve always been drawn to working with my hands. Clay is soft, responsive, and constantly changing, and working with it feels both grounding and freeing. As a recovering perfectionist, clay has taught me to accept and appreciate imperfections.

I’m still finding my voice and space as a ceramic artist, and I’m okay with that. It’s a constant exploration of new techniques and styles, and what I’m drawn to is always evolving.
